 Post 6 - February, 2020: Insulation - Baaaaaa-aaaa

After placing butcher paper to protect the vinyl floor, I moved to the insulation

This is it -sheep's wool, a natural product that does not off-gas (except for maybe the smell of sheep) and can be stuffed into the 1.5 bazillion crevices in the interior of the van. It can be ripped (in one direction only) by hand making sizing and installation easier.

I spent dozens of hours stuffing this into holes, large and small. My mind would drift off to when I lived on a dairy farm in upstate NY on the VT border.....

Tedious but well worth it. Day, after day, after day, of ripping and stuffing.  I thought of Laura and how she is always cold. The extra effort I put in now will add to her, and hence my, comfort later.

I installed some wooden rails that would serve to both attach the wall material as well as to hold the larger pieces of wool in place.

More insulation would be needed once the walls and ceiling were installed. The wiring process would require the removal and replacement of much of the insulation at times.  Have I mentioned that I had NEVER exhibited so much patience as I have with this van build. Old dog - new tricks.
